The idea

Halal wagyu used to be hard to find in Singapore. Charr'd built a steakhouse around it.

The grade

Japanese beef is scored for its marbling, from BMS 1 to 12. A5 means the top yield and the top quality band: marbling scores 8 to 12. This is the fat that melts into the meat as it cooks.

BMS 1 – 7 · lean to well marbled
BMS 8 – 12 · A5 · what we serve as A5

Two cuts, two moods

Sliced A5 wagyu with a charred crust

Japanese A5

A5 strip loin

Rich enough that a few slices are plenty. Seared hard, rested, and served to share.

F1 wagyu cross

F1 ribeye

Half wagyu, half something sturdier. Less melt, more beef: the one to pick when you want a proper steak to work through.

Before you order

How do you take it?

Slide to see what each doneness looks like inside, and what it does to marbled beef.

Mashed potatoes with a pool of beef jus

On the side

Beef-fat mash

Whipped potatoes enriched with rendered wagyu fat. People come back for the steak and talk about this.

A little hidden. Worth finding.
